The Check Engine Light comes on when the engine, transmission or a subsystem is not operating at top efficiency. The light indicates that there is something wrong. An illuminated Check Engine Light will almost always set a code(s) known as DTC (Diagnostic Truble Code) that the technician can retrieve with the use of a scanner. These codes will assist the technician in diagnose the problem(s) (The code dose NOT tell the technician what part to change.)
Cost:
-
FREE if applicable repairs are done at Nice Car, Inc.
-
$48.50 if customer just wants the code(s) so someone else can do the repair
-
$97.00/hr when used in major diagnostic procedures.
